If you have been playing a moderate amount of Modern Warfare 2 online then you may have come across a player who explodes with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns every time you kill him. This is a glitch that people have been exploiting involving the javelin. A player (or cheating swamp donkey) using the glitch can still run around and knife people, until they themselves are killed, at which point the glitch allows them to essentially suicide bomb any players within the blast radius - changing the normally fun multiplayer experience into a sick game of cat and mouse.

For everyone who has dealt with these jerks who are ruining the game, you can finally rest because justice is coming. Xbox Live’s Director of Policy and Enforcement, Stephen Toulous, recently tweeted that anyone caught exploiting the javelin glitch for the first time will be banned for a period of 24 hours. If caught a 2nd time, the player will suffer a 2 week ban.

If you don’t think that these precautions will do the trick then you can also look forward to a patch hitting Xbox Live, PC, and PSN ASAP! Infinity Ward’s own Robert Bowling’s Twitter mentioned that they were working very hard to get the javelin glitch patch off the ground as fast as they can.

“While IW works on getting the MW2 glitch fixed, people we catch using it will recieve suspensions from LIVE. Play fair everyone.”

Either way you look at it, the players who get a laugh out of ruining my kill streaks with this glitch are going to be dealt with - and it is about time!

“Javelin Glitch fix currently in test. Once it’s cleared, we’ll be urging it through Microsoft & Sony certification as fast as possible.”

What do you think about the banishments? Have you been affected by the kamikaze javelin players?
