Update: The studio’s website has updated with a brief announcement for the game.

“Our game is a third person action-adventure survival episodic game.

“Through each episodes, we want the player to relive the greatest moments of mankind with a documentary twist. Our civilisation is one idea away from extinction… or evolution.

“Stay tuned much more to come in 2015! “

The dev team is currently only six strong, but Désilets is hiring to expand Panache Digital.

Original report: Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is the new game from Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Désilets and his studio Panache Digital, the game designer announced this morning at Reboot Develop.

The game was announced with a teaser trailer tracking back through humankind’s major events such as cloning Dolly the sheep, the 1969 moon landing, first flight, the fall of the Roman Empire, all the way back to the dawn of man.

Désilets’ keynote also revealed his studio makes triple-A episodic games, so it’s pretty safe to assume Ancestors will be released digitally in episodes.

The studio’s blurb also states is makes “third-person action-adventure games, with a narrative twist”, so Ancestors sounds like an episodic third-person action adventure.
