The always popular Indie Megabooth has revealed its complete lineup for the upcoming PAX West event, featuring 70 games from 14 countries. The titles will range from hands-on VR titles to highly narrative experiences in visual novels.

Organizers advise eager visitors to begin with the Minibooth before moving onto to the numerous larger titles. Visual novels have been afforded their own space in a reading room, which is sure to help immerse oneself in the story. However one chooses to partake, there really is no way to go wrong.

For the unfamiliar, the Indie Megabooth is a traveling showcase of the most passionate creators who strive to develop independent games and bring them to the forefront of the gaming community. Since 2011, they have worked to establish a network for developers and communities to support one another towards this goal.

Since their humble beginnings, over 700 indie titles have been features at events worldwide. It has been here that some of the most popular titles began, including Hyper Light Drifter and Dead Cells.

The ongoing success of the Indie Megabooth demonstrates nothing but positive trends for consumers. Some would argue that there are too many indie games flooding today’s market, but this has not always been the case, and it should not be considered a negative point.

Over the years, the market has grown tremendously, and we could say that platforms like Steam have been instrumental in the distribution of these smaller games by offering developers a way to offer their games to a wide audience, particularly in the past decade or more.

The rise of mobile gaming consoles has also provided indie gaming with an even greater source of untapped market potential. Smartphones in general are now far more capable of running indie games, but so too have the mainstream consoles embraces wholeheartedly the culture of smaller, indie game developers. The PlayStation Vita and Nintendo Switch are perfect examples of this, again allowing for games to reach a broad range of consumers.

While we cannot see into the future, there is little doubt to believe that indie games will do anything except continue to blossom in the future. At worst, the market may become over saturated with offerings, but this would mainly result in only the best games making it through, which is an absolute win for consumers.

Pinny Arcade will be returning to Megabooth as well, continuing to provide welcome new additions to pin collectors. Megabooth will be revealing details in the following week on the Pin Quest discount that they will be providing and how to acquire the newest Pinnys.
