Today, the parent company of PC Invasion (Enthusiast Gaming) has announced its acquisition of online publication, The Escapist. The magazine will return to its roots, so to speak, having the former editor-in-chief, Russ Pitts, back at the helm.

Pitts has expressed what exactly the reinstatement entailed in a personal blog posted on Medium. He writes, “We’re leaving politics at the door.”

The founder and CEO of Enthusiast Gaming, Menashe Kestenbaum, also released a statement regarding the new addition to the growing network of sites.

The Escapist was founded in 2005, providing coverage to video games, movies, comics, and TV. Pitts had previously left the company, moving to Vox in order to launch Polygon. In 2017, Enthusiast Gaming also added Destructoid to its growing network portfolio.
