Joker, also known as Akira, is the protagonist to Persona 5. As the main character of a role-playing game, players get to choose most of his actions and what he says. The options often portray him as a trickster. He’s witty, charismatic, and bold. He is the perfect leader of a group who changes the hearts of their enemies.
With Joker being a main character to a popular game, he has a lot of fan art. Here are ten pieces of fan art we found worth sharing. Please check out the artists’ linked pages as well!
10 Akechi Versus Joker
This fan art was made by lowercasek.
Goro Akechi is a great rival for a character like Joker. Joker is cast aside by adults for standing up for what he believes in, and Akechi is cut from the same cloth. However, unlike Joker, Akechi goes insane and becomes a villain. A lot of fans either love or hate Akechi, but they cannot deny that his character was written well as a good foil for Joker.
9 The Phantom Thieves
A lot of fan art has the entire main cast, so of course the leader is included. The gang is all here! We especially love how every character is holding their mask. Every mask is unique and tells a little about the characters.
Zolaida is to be credited for this wonderful fan art. They have also done a lot of beautiful fan art for games like The Legend of Zelda, Overwatch, and Nier: Automata. If you are an anime/cartoon fan, they also have amazing fan art for Howl’s Moving Castle, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
8 The Main Cast
Like the previous fan art, the gang is all here. Except this time, Goro Akechi is included as well. After all, he did have his own Persona and joined the Phantom Thieves for a while.
The colors and movement shown in his piece is incredible! There are also details in the background that show the various palaces from the game. The artist who did this piece is DevianTakeFreeCanvas.
7 Akira
So this fan art was actually a collaboration between two artists. So check out Fuumeh who and TheCecile who worked together to make this. That’s right, this was a speed paint job and you can check it out on Youtube.
A lot of fan art of Joker typically goes for the dark and mysterious look. Despite having being a hero in the game, Joker is often portrayed as almost sinister due to the fact that he is a secret rebel.
6 Prisoner
Awakening to your own Persona looks like a painful process, especially in the instance for Joker. There is blood, and we do not even know where it is coming from but it looks both agonizing and empowering in the way it is portrayed in Persona 5. The artist, Liirin, did a great job in capturing those emotions in this fan art.
The artist has also done fan art for video games like Mario, Fire Emblem, and Undertale.
5 Car Ride
Here we have Joker, Ryuji, Ann, and Yusuke. Technically, we can also say Morgana since he can shape-shift into a very convenient van for traveling through Mementos. We love the different postures and expressions in this fan art, as it really shows the characters’ various personalities. We also get to see their weapons lying around, which is a cool detail.
This art was a collaboration between ozkh and Cleopatrawolf. This is not their only Persona fan art either, as they have individually made their own pieces as well that you can check out in their galleries.
4 Flower Portrait
There is a lot more fan art of Joker in his battle outfit rather than in this everyday clothes, so this is a refreshing perspective on his character. The flowers are also a lovely touch. While it is different from a lot of other fan art, it still is similar in that Joker is portrayed as a mysterious figure. You look at him, and you know he has a lot of secrets.
This art was made by tai-hato. Their art is really cool and full of creative ideas, such as human-versions of Finding Nemo, Lion King, and Jungle Book characters. They have also done fan art for Fire Emblem.
3 Mask Off
This is classic Joker fan art. He has the red gloves, the mask, the dark coat, and that trickster smile. There is a cool bit a trivia about his character design. Apparently, he was designed to be like a cat with a hidden side while the previous protagonist of Persona 4 was designed to be like a sincere dog. At least that is according to the Persona Art-book.
The artist, yogurtdollart, as also done fan art for Fire Emblem, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Age, Star Wars, Frozen, and Sailor Moon.
2 Joker And Arsene
For those that don’t know, Joker’s Persona, Arsene, is based on a fictional character known as Arsene Lupin. He was a gentleman thief who targeted far worse criminals than himself. So he was the perfect match for Joker, whose whole aesthetic is to be a wanted criminal who is actually doing good for society.
The fan art was made by the talented fate-fiction. Their epic gallery includes fan art from Frozen, The Witcher, How to Train your Dragon, Overwatch, Pop Team Epic, Howls Moving Castle, Nier: Automata, Wonder Woman, Princess Mononoke, and much more.
1 Persona 5 Team
An interesting trend of Persona 5 fan art is the original team seems to be considered as Yusuke, Ann, Morgana, Joker, and Ryuji, despite the fact that Yusuke comes after the first four characters create the Phantom Thieves. This could be because Yusuke makes the cut for being around a lot. After all, Persona 5 is a long game.
The art was made by kuro-mai. They’ve also done fan art for games and anime Final Fantasy, Black Butler, Ace Attorney, Zero Escape, and Pokémon.
