Kasumi Yoshizawa is the holder of the Faith Arcana, as well as both a party member and Confidant in Persona 5 Royal. She is a talented gymnast and first-year student at Shujin Academy. She is introduced in the game’s opening sequence and you automatically begin her Confidant on 05/30. Her ranks can only progress on specific dates and she can be found in Kichijoji during the day.
Kasumi’s social link has some unique aspects that are important to understand. Each of her ranks can only be triggered on specific dates. She will text you on these dates and, if you ignore them, you won’t always get another chance. At Rank 9 you have the option to romance Kasumi, which changes the dialogue options for the following rank. However, before 01/09 you will only be able to reach Rank 5. Progressing beyond Rank 5 requires you to have Rank 9 of Maruki’s Confidant before 11/17.

Below are the skills and benefits acquired from ranking up the Faith Confidant. The standout skills are Tumbling, Chaînés Hook, Fitness Talk, Protect, and both awakenings. Much like all party members, it is worth ranking Kasumi up as doing so provides benefits in battle and access to her evolved Personas, Vanadis and Ella.
- Rank 2 – Tumbling: Allows you to avoid being surrounded by enemies in Palaces.
- Rank 4 – Chaînés Hook: Allows you to ambush from a distance by attacking with the grappling hook. Shadows may be afflicted with Fear, Confuse, or Dizzy upon entering combat.
- Rank 6 – Follow Up: Chance to perform a follow-up attack if Joker’s attack does not down the enemy.
- Rank 6 – Fitness Talk: If negotiation with any kind of Shadow fails, you can try again.
- Rank 7 – Harisen Recovery: Chance to cure status ailments inflicted upon party members.
- Rank 8 – Endure: Chance to withstand an otherwise fatal attack with 1 HP remaining.
- Rank 9 – Protect: Chance to shield Joker from an otherwise fatal attack.
- Rank 10 – Second Awakening: Evolves Kasumi’s Cendrillon Persona into Vanadis.
- Rank 10 – Third Awakening*: Evolves Kasumi’s Vanadis Persona into Ella.
*Kasumi’s Third Awakening is only triggered near the end of the third semester.
