Peter Molyneux recently spoke to Glixel (via Gamespot) about his next game, which is said to be a different from what he’s done before.

Titled Legacy, Molyneux is back coding, and said the process is like Populous wherein he would ‘just try an idea and see if it works,’ before adding ‘I was in the hotel this morning, I was having breakfast, I was coding Legacy, and I had an idea. Within an hour, I was actually playing with the thing.’

Molyneux stated that he hasn’t necessarily thought about what platforms Legacy would appear on at this early stage, but did say that its ‘very different.’

He went onto state that ‘One of the things I am proud of is the number of different genres that I’ve attempted. At the moment, it’s hard to peg what genre Legacy falls into.’

While some criticise Molyneux for promising a lot with his games and not always delivering, his passion for the medium is rarely matched, and his CV, while containing a few duds, is also packed with hits like Fable, Dungeon Keeper, Black & White, so there’ll always be interest on what he’s got in the pipeline.
