Love him or hate him, PewDiePie is by far the most-famous YouTuber—unless you count Justin Beiber as a YouTuber, since his YouTube covers did launch his career, in which case PewDiePe is the third most-famous YouTuber, behind Bieber and his ego.
But that aside, with over 100 million subscribers, Pewds is huge, and since he’s a gaming YouTuber, it only makes sense for a developer to leverage his fame and make games in his image. The developer that managed to enter PewDiePie’s good graces and actually start creating games about the guy was Outerminds, Inc.
Thanks to Outerminds, Pewds’ fans have already been playing PewDiePie: Legend of the Brofist and PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator. Now, in keeping with modern trends, Outerminds will soon release a game that his fans will be not playing in the form of the Idle RPG PewDiePie’s Pixelings.
While details of the gameplay aren’t that clear, it does involves collecting creatures called Pixelings, which fans will probably remember from Tuber Simulator. After choosing a team of these creatures, players will presumably do what they do in all idle games, which is nothing, as they go through the levels and watch battles unfold without their input.
The game does promise to treat players to a “meme-tastic” storyline as they make their way through Pixeland and attempt to stop some sort of creature that’s been eating everyone.
Along the way, players will be able to unlock upgrades so that they can continue to do nothing in-battle, but better. The game does promise the “the strategic depth of turn-by-turn strategy RPGs,” along with some “real-time PvP battles” that seems to be a lot like Auto Chess, but with all the chess taken out.
The game will be available on both iOS and Android. Fans who can’t wait for the chance to pledge their undying loyalty to everything PewDiePie can pre-register on the Google Play Store, or pre-order it on the App Store. It’s expected release date is November 15.
