It may not be as “smart” as the competition, but the Philips 55PFL8008S has a super-sharp picture, stacks of customisation options, great sound, a gorgeous exterior and Ambilight technology that sets it apart from the competition. But it suffers from some clouding that limits the overall picture and the price is at the top-end of the sector. A strong contender in its class that’ll appeal to detail junkies, but it’s not as perfect as we’d hoped.
