The third episode of PlayStation’s State of Play is airing Tuesday, September 24th and will bring with it a host of new information regarding upcoming releases and other updates.
The first State of Play, which aired March 25th, 2019, revealed Iron Man VR for PS VR, while the second State of Play saw the announcement of Predator: Hunting Grounds.
Not much is known about next week’s State of Play, though Sid Shuman, PlayStation’s Director of Social Media, wrote a brief blog post for the official PlayStation blog. In it, he described some of what will take place during the State of Play.
Set to air at 1:00PM PST, Sony’s next State of Play is “weighing in at around 20 minutes and sporting a fresh new look.” Furthermore, information to drop during the State of Play will include “new game reveals, new content from PlayStation’s Worldwide Studios, and a host of other updates.”
Shuman included the caveat that there won’t be any updates regarding the next generation of PlayStation.
“You can watch live on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook, as usual. Can’t wait to see what you think!” writes Shuman.
It will certainly be interesting to see what Sony brings to the table during this State of Play. One of the first things that will likely cross many gamers’ and Sony fans’ minds is an update on The Last of Us Part II. Given an earlier announcement promising more information about The Last of Us Part II just last week, and the fact that we may be coming upon the year of the PlayStation 5’s release, it would make sense for us to get some more information on that.
Otherwise, there could be some more information heading our way about the return of the Ratchet & Clank series or, perhaps, something will come down the line regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake. Also, Marvel’s Avengers has sort of taken precedent over the State of Play-announced Iron Man VR. So, it might be reasonable to predict that Iron Man VR might make some kind of appearance. Regardless, answers will come September 24th.
