Venusaur brings back nostalgic memories for many of us as this Pokémon was introduced back in Generation I. This grass and poison Pokémon is the Bulbasaur’s final form, but it can mega evolve as well. They are difficult to find in the wild, but grasslands are what they consider to be their home.
Many fans have created artwork depicting this Pokémon in various lights. Some choose to represent it realistically, while others give it an unexpected twist. Keep reading to learn about these amazing pieces of Venusaur fan art.
10 10. A Grisly Image
This artist named Joshua Dunlop chose to depict this Pokémon in a realistic environment. It transports us to a world where Pokémon freely roam the Earth as wild animals, capable of inflicting untold damage.
This is one sight we wouldn’t necessarily want to see, even though its flower softens our own emotions. The amount of detail and time this artist put into this work deserves a round of applause because there is nothing else out there like it.
9 9. A New Reptile In Our Midst
This piece depicts Venusaur as a reptilian creature, as it shares features similar to that of a lizard or snake. The more rounded and pointy face sells us on this viewpoint, as well as the tough skin that reminds us of battle-ready scales.
The unique way in which this artist, named dekunobou-kizakura, created this piece draws our eye to the canvas. Everywhere we look there is some new detail to uncover as the work appears to blend together, despite obvious lines.
8 8. Cartoons Are Epic
This Venusaur went back to Pokémon’s roots as the artist depicted it in cartoon fashion. The vibrant colors and sharp angles really make this artwork stand apart from the rest. Kuitsuku’s use of shadowing and perfect placement of basic shapes helps this Venusaur come alive as it jumps off the page.
It might not look like the original, but it has a flair of its own that no one else can match. We can only imagine what all of the other Pokémon would look like under his skilled hand.
7 7. Artistic Expression Shines Through In This Piece
This piece was created by BronzeHalo and they took Venusaur to the next level as he evolved into his mega form. The blue was a bit more muted in this artist’s rendition and it is what drew us to this piece.
We love the focus on the artistry surrounding the flower on his back and the trunk it rests on. It might look like a typical Mega Venusaur to some, but others will see the subtle touches that this artist used in its creation.
6 6. Pokémon Can Be Creepy Too
This artist specializes in horror-based creations that remind us of Tim Burton movies. Many choose to create pieces that frame Pokémon in a cute light, but he chooses to twist them into something sinister.
We are graced with Venusaur’s lower forms as well, but this particular Pokémon is what had us intrigued by this piece. The red eyes combined with the jagged teeth turn this childhood love into something sprinkled with evil. We can only thank Atlas-White for gracing the world with this piece that gives us a new perspective.
5 5. Camouflage Is His Strongsuit
Venusaur has a knack for blending in with its surroundings when necessary as its large flower makes him less noticeable in lush areas. This piece showcases this aspect of its design as we almost have to do a second take to find him hidden in the background.
Our eyes are drawn to the girl as Gotetho used similar greens and certain lighting to capture his essence. We love the addition of other Pokémon in the background as a hidden world is slowly revealed to the viewer.
4 4. Mudbaths Are A Necessity
We can only imagine that this Pokémon would love to relax in a squishy mudbath after a long, hot day. The artist showed us a version of Venusaur that is relaxed and at ease in its own life.
Dendroabates gave it a troll-like expression unlike those we often see in other fan art pieces of this particular Pokémon. The mix of light and use of dark space on the canvas is phenomenal and no detail went unaccounted for when this artist went to work.
3 3. Maybe It’s A Dragon In Disguise?
An artist named Fuulikoo reimagined this Pokémon as a full-fledged dragon, and it turned out better than we expected. The similarities between the two were already there between the scales, a few sharp teeth, and the claws on its feet.
The artist finished the image by transforming it into a dragon while still holding onto these similarities that made him think of this design in the first place. Their specialty rests in dragons, but now it can be argued that they understand the essence of Pokémon as well.
2 2. Venusaur Is Literally Glowing
This artist gave Venusaur a glow-up as it was taken from an ugly brute to a soft and lovely Pokémon. It looks like it is thriving in this piece, even as some of its less appealing features are put on full display.
Mad–Munchkin, the artist who created this piece did a fantastic job as they reimagined it into something we never expected. The soft nature of the piece makes us feel warm on the inside and brings us a sense of peace other artworks fail to do.
1 1. Evil Is In The Air
The last artist drew an idealistic Venusaur, while this creator took it to a dark place. It looks like a demon who has arisen from the depths of despair and only Pikachu stands a chance of saving the world.
It is frightening and it fuels our nightmares the longer we look at it. Gaidenlight created this Pokémon and it is one battle that we will want to see. The electricity stemming from Pikachu draws our eye as we gradually see the bigger picture as true horror sets us on edge.
