Pokémon Scarlet and its twin, Pokémon Violet, are going to get a new trailer tomorrow, showing lord knows what.

Could it be more of the setting? More of the monsters themselves? Or maybe a chance to see some new battling mechanics?

The news of this new trailer comes direct from the Pokémon official Twitter:

“A new #ScarletViolet trailer drops tomorrow! 🚨 You read that right, Trainers. Tune in to our YouTube channel at 14:00 BST on 1st June for the latest on Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet!”

The Pokémon Company announced the new ninth-generation games back in February. We got a look at the three starters:

Sprigatito, a grassy cat, described as “capricious and attention seeking.” Fuecoco, a laid back fiery crocodile that does things at its own pace. And Quaxly, a water-type duckling whom the official release describes as “earnest and tidy.”

The announcement trailer is below:

The description reads:

“Welcome to the open world of Pokémon. Embark on an open-world adventure in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, arriving on Nintendo Switch in late 2022.”

So there you have it. Perhaps tomorrow’s trailer will include a release date. All we have at the moment is “late 2022.” A smart bet would be November, in the Christmas window; that’s when Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl came out.
