Pokimane had the honor of having her dance added to Fortnite as an emote this week, but skins performing it are inexplicably getting a little thicker as a result.

Fortnite is in the midst of its icon series as you read this; a series of temporary additions to the game honoring some of its most popular streamers. Ninja kicked off the event, as his likeness was used to create a skin. Next on the list was Pokimane, who had a dance she made famous on TikTok turned into an emote.

This is an honor for Poki, something she said herself once she was finally allowed to reveal that her dance moves were going to be immortalized in the battle royale game. However, that honor has been tainted a little since its addition to the Fortnite store. That’s due to the fact it is having s strange effect on pre-existing skins.

The strange reaction to the emote won’t have any effect on gameplay, of course, but it might be a little annoying for some players. Considering it’s an emote players will have paid for, being used by a skin they might have paid for too, most will want both to look as Epic originally intended. Personally, we like our Kylo Ren skin to be a little chunkier, as long as that doesn’t mean he has become a bigger target for our enemies to hit in the process.

As for what Epic is going to do about this problem, chances are it might well have been fixed by the time you read this. Poki’s emote isn’t the first cosmetic addition to Fortnite to have had a weird and wonderful effect on some of the game’s pre-existing mechanics. When capes were first added to Fortnite, their physics did not cope well to begin with at all. If you want to apply the Poki effect to your Fortnite skins, we would do it now rather than later.
