It was no doubt the way many of your favourite YouTubers first recorded gameplay, and quite possibly how you started your own video channel if you jumped on in the current generation, but it’s time to say goodbye to the Elgato Game Capture HD as production of the little capture card that could has ended.

‘Having empowered content creators for almost 6 years,’ Elgato said on its official Twitter account, ‘it’s time to say goodbye to the GOAT, Elgato Game Capture HD, as it goes end of life.’

The Elgato Came Capture HD first launched in 2012, but newer models have come out since such as 2014’s HD60 and, more recently, the 4K60 Pro card.

Good night, sweet card. You did well.
