PS4 has now sold 29.3 million units, Sony revealed in its second quarter financial results ending September 30, 2015.

Four million units shipped during the quarter, up from three million in the previous three months.

To put the PlayStation 4’s sales into perspective, after the same time period the PS2 had sold 24.99 million units, PS3 16.6 million and Xbox 360 only 13.4 million. The only modern-day system to outpace PS4 is the Wii which shifted 34.55 million over the same time frame.

As for Xbox One, Microsoft hasn’t offered an update on sales since November 2014 when it said the console had shipped almost 10 million units.

Sony expects to sell 17.5 million PS4 units over its financial year, meaning 10 million systems to be sold between October 1 and March 31, 2016.
