The yet-to-be-announced PS4 Slim will include a brand new DualShock 4 controller featuring an additional, front-facing lightbar, according to an unboxing video of the upcoming console.

The video, which has since been made private, offered an in-depth look at the new console and the contents included in the box, including the new DualShock 4.

The new lightbar sits across the top of the controller’s touchpad, flashing white when connecting to the console and remaining lit while powered on. The original lightbar appears to remain unchanged.

Other changes, the video’s commentator explains, are a matte finish around the d-pad and face buttons, and a lighter, greyer look to each of the buttons. It isn’t clear whether Sony has replaced the material of the thumbsticks, however, which had been prone to tearing.

Sony has yet to announce PS4 Slim, although reports suggest it will be revealed at Sony’s PlayStation Meeting on September 7 before going on sale shortly after. You should probably expect the new controller to go on sale at the same time.
