The latest operators to arrive in Rainbow Six Siege are the deceptive Iana and the destructive Oryx.

Rainbow Six Siege is about to get its 53rd and 54th operators. We previously learned a bit about them thanks to a leak on Reddit last week. Although the leak got Iana’s name wrong, the broad strokes of the new operators were largely confirmed by Ubisoft at The Six Invitational Championship in Quebec last week.

First, we have Iana, a Dutch operative that has a holographic gadget that deploys decoys to confuse and distract her foes. This gadget makes her sort of like the Attacker counterpart of Alibi, but her decoys work a little differently. Where Alibi’s decoys stay still, Iana’s holograms move around.

When Iana activates her hologram, the player actually assumes control of the hologram and leaves the real Iana behind. The hologram can’t actually attack or deal damage, but it can scout, find enemies, and trick them into shooting or deploying their abilities against her early. The hologram can also spot traps without actually triggering them.

The hologram is fragile, however, and can be destroyed with a single bullet or by many different operator abilities.

Our second new operator is Oryx, and as the leak suggested, he’s basically the Jordanian version of the Kool-Aid man. Using his Remod Dash ability, he can smash through soft walls without any tools, but at the cost of some health. He can also knockdown shield-carrying operators and put a few bullets in them while they try to stand up.

Oryx also has phenomenal upper body strength, allowing him to grab onto edges to either peek around, open hatches, or haul himself up. This gives Oryx unparalleled mobility and the ability to show up almost anywhere on the map.

Both operators are available today on Rainbow Six Siege’s test servers. They’ll arrive in the main game along with Void Edge, the codename for Year 5, Season 1. We still don’t have a release date on when the new season will begin, but Season Pass holders will get the new operators one week before everyone else.
