Rise of the Tomb Raider’s cutscenes will render at a native 1440×1080 resolution on Xbox One, slightly lower than the rest of the game’s 1920×1080 output, Crystal Dynamics has confirmed.
Game director Brian Horton confirmed the resolution to Power Up Gaming following earlier reports that the cutscenes would run at an even lower 900p. Those reports, however, are not correct, Horton says, with the 1440×1080 res said to offer an 8% increase in pixel density over 900p.
The game also targets a 30fps framerate.
Last year’s Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition also ran at 1080p/30fps on Xbox One, but dipped to 900p during some cutscenes. The PS4 version, meanwhile, ran at 1080p/60fps.
Rise of the Tomb Raider launches on Xbox One and Xbox 360 next Friday, November 13, with a PS4 and PC release due in 2016.
